With a passion for community building, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) brought people together for a great cause

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has 90 chapters throughout Canada, which support various charitable initiatives and run programming for youth. Last year, eighteen of these local chapters sponsored runs, which collectively have raised millions for charities in their communities.

In 2022, Run for Newmarket raised $8000 for Blue Door and $8000 for the Newmarket Food Pantry. This years Run For Newmarket has raised $25,000 for Blue Door and Newmarket Food Pantry

The money raised through the second annual Run for Newmarket, held Oct. 1, 2023, at Fairy Lake, the group handed over the cheques for $5,500 to Community and Home Assistance to Seniors (CHATS) and the York Region Food Network.

The event was attended by

  • Mayor John Taylor, Mayor of Newmarket,
  • MP Tony Van Bynen, Member of Parliament for Newmarket-Aurora,
  • MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy, Member of Provincial Parliament for Newmarket-Aurora
  • along with the Councillors, Deputy Fire Chief of Central York Fire Services, and representatives from York Regional Police.
